Both Sarge (latest sarge-sparc-netinst.iso) and Woody
(debian-30r2-sparc-binary-1.iso) fail to bootstrap the kernel
on my Sun-Fire-V210.

The Sarge netinst CD stops with:

[ ENTER - Boot install ] [ Type "expert" - Boot into expert mode ]
  boot: expert
Allocated 8 Megs of memory at 0x40000000 for kernel
  Uncompressing image...
  Loaded kernel version 2.4.26
Loading initial ramdisk (1530032 bytes at 0x21F800000 phys, 0x40C00000 virt)...
  Remapping the kernel... done.

and the Woody binary-1 CD stops with:

[ ENTER - Boot install ] [ Type "rescue" - Boot into rescue mode ]
  boot:
  Loading initial ramdisk....

SC Alert: Host System has Reset

  CPU 0000.0000.0000.0000 AFSR 0210.8000.0000.0000 AFAR 0000.07ff.ffc0.4420

(This same error occurs with the beta4 sarge-sparc-netinst.iso image)

Then I turned to the ML and found:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-sparc/2004/03/msg00314.html
http://lists.debian.org/debian-sparc/2003/11/msg00003.html

There is talk about an image repository
(http://auric.debian.org/~bcollins/disks-sparc/current/) which seems
dead, and a patch which I think should have been applied by now, but
doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Anyway, any ideas what Debian ISO image to try on my Sun-Fire-V210, or
should I start talking on the Debian Sparc list about this?

Thanks,

Jama Poulsen
