Has this already been decided?

On the petition form there is this option:
 "Would like to fund to free/open a design (like Blender was)"

So it seems there's a possibility of not just a free GPU API
and drivers, but also the release of an existing GPU design by
Tech Source (http://www.techsource.com).

Then there's the patents issue, which might make this last option
practically unfeasible.
